About

Twenty-five years designing footwear, most of it spent making shoes for other people's brands before I started making them for my own.

I started designing shoes young, learning the craft at companies like Quiksilver, etnies, emerica, es, and Supra, the kind of places where you learn how a shoe actually gets made, not just how to draw one.

At Supra, three of my designs, the Skytop, Vaider, and Stacks, each sold well over a million pairs. I also designed the Skytop Series 1 through 4, along with shoes like the Society and the Falcon.

From there I co-founded Clearweather with my brother and ran it for ten years. During that time we also consulted for other brands, working with adidas, Vans, Shoe Surgeon, Nahimas, and Lusso, including a three-month consulting engagement with Yeezy. Different brands, different problems, same process underneath all of it.

These days I run Filmsuede on my own out of Santa Ana, California. One person, start to finish. Every sketch, every sample, every rejected prototype passes through me before it becomes a shoe.

The Footwear Design System is what I'm building next, twenty-five years of process put into something other people can actually use.
